As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, the boundaries between the physical and digital worlds are becoming increasingly blurred.
The partnership between Cosm and NBC Sports marks a significant milestone in the evolution of immersive experiences, setting the stage for a future where sports broadcasting and virtual reality converge in ways that were once the realm of science fiction.
In this comprehensive analysis, we explore the profound implications of this collaboration and how it is poised to revolutionize the way we experience live sports.
What is Cosm?
Cosm is revolutionizing how content is experienced and shared, creating an entirely new way to enjoy sports, entertainment, art, and more with friends and family. The cutting-edge technology and world-class venues fully immerse you in the content, placing you in the front row of an NBA game or within a stunning piece of art.
By blending advanced structural engineering, innovative display technology, and groundbreaking production software, they are pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Their venues offer diverse experiences, from live sports to interactive art, complemented by in-house dining and full bar service. Cosm is unlike any venue you've encountered.
Cosm Spaces
Each Cosm location features three key spaces: the Dome, the Hall, and the Deck, all designed to deliver the ultimate Shared Reality experience.
The Dome
The Dome is the heart of Shared Reality platform. It's not just a screen—it's a gateway to another world. The display envelops the entire audience, ensuring every seat is immersed in the content.
Unlike traditional theaters, where you sit quietly in individual chairs, Cosm’s seating is designed for social interaction. Whether in single high-top chairs, cozy doubles, or spacious lounge booths, you can talk, eat, and share the experience with friends and family.
You can order food directly to your seat and enjoy the show without missing a moment. The Dome features an 87-foot diameter, fine-pitch LED display with an impressive 12k horizontal and 10k vertical resolution, offering an unparalleled viewing experience tailored to you.
The Hall
The Hall takes your fan experience to the next level by blending Cosm’s immersive Shared Reality technology with the excitement of live events. This two-story space offers a mix of tables and booths, with balcony views overlooking the main floor.
The Hall’s vibrant atmosphere is perfect for gathering with friends and family, while app ordering and onsite servers make it easy to enjoy food and drinks delivered right to your table. The energy in the Hall is as electrifying as the stunning views on the display.
The Deck
The Deck is an expansive outdoor terrace on the top floor optimized for breathtaking views, whether of a sunset or a local landmark. It’s the ideal spot to unwind from the intensity of Shared Reality.
You can relax by the fire pits and indulge in exclusive menu items available only on the Deck. At Cosm, they want to ensure that every moment offers the best possible view, even when you step outside.
Cosm Prices
Of course, everything sounds great, but how much will it actually cost to watch a sports event at Cosm?
Cosm’s pricing varies depending on the day of the week, the type of event, and the seating you choose.
At the time of writing this article, prices for the NCAA football game Texas A&M @ Florida at Cosm Los Angeles ranged from $176 to $264 for an 8-person booth on Level 1 of the Dome. On Levels 2 and 3, prices started at $50 per person. These levels also offer booths with access to The Hall, The Deck, and the exclusive Dome bar.
The most affordable option was a Hall Level 1 ticket at $11 per person. There was also a General Admission ticket for $39, which operates on a first-come, first-served basis for standing room areas in The Dome or available seating in The Hall and The Deck, with access to the Hall Club.
In contrast, tickets for the English Premier League match between Liverpool and Chelsea were slightly more expensive than for NCAA football.
For UFC 307: Pereira vs. Rountree Jr., the cheapest Dome ticket started at $154 (Level 1 was already sold out, but an 8-person booth could offer a lower per-person price). The Hall Level 1 ticket was priced at $28, and the General Admission ticket was $50, significantly higher than NCAA football tickets.
This suggests that for NBA and NFL games (especially events like the Super Bowl and NBA Finals), prices could reach extreme levels—but only time will tell.
